We strive to reduce our adverse effects on the environment in as many ways as possible including:

• Using solar panels to help heat water
• Cavity wall insulation and double glazing throughout the house
• Using ‘Dolly Wash Balls’ to reduce the amount of washing powder required
• Washing at low temperatures
• During their stay we only change guest's towels when requested
• We hardly ever use a tumble dryer, drying everything outside whenever possible
• Minimising the use of chemicals in the house and garden, however we cannot claim to be organic
• Recycling and composting everything we can, our council is one of the top in the country for recycling
• Sourcing food locally and growing our own
• Using low energy light bulbs as far as possible (we apologise if the bedrooms are a bit dark initially)
• Using timers and radiator thermostats
• Asking our guests to order breakfast the evening before to reduce food waste
